Reason: Amplifier module malfunctioning in Western ROADM Agassiz node
Effects: Backbone network connectivity between Vancouver and Kamloops/Calgary was sporadic during this time due to the Agassiz amplifier module failing. All L2 services between those segments were affected by this.
A replacement module was installed on Sunday September 24th to restore service.
During the outage, Research and Peering network traffic was manually rerouted over the Edmonton segment. Transit services were unaffected.
Contact: Please contact the BCNET Network Operations Centre at 604-822-1348 option 3 or noc@bc.net when network problems are experienced outside of a maintenance window.
