UBC Wireless Network Maintenance – Authentication Certificate Replacement May 9, 2018 01:00 PT to 02:00 PT

The wireless team will be replacing the secure wireless authentication certificate on May 9, 2018 01:00 PT to 02:00 PT. During this time users may not be able to authenticate to secure wireless networks including ubcsecure, eduroam, ubcprivate and ubcoprivate. This change affects all UBC campuses and distributed learning sites where UBC secure wireless networks are available.

After the change window, users with compatible devices who have pre-emptively executed the AutoConnect wireless setup tool since the first announcement on April 6, 2018 will not be affected. As well, Windows devices managed by Desktop Services SCCM will not be affected. Users without a AutoConnect compatible device or devices that do not support parallel root CA certificates may not be able to connect to the ubcsecure, eduroam, ubcprivate or ubcoprivate wireless networks after this change is completed. These users should either run AutoConnect or manually reconfigure their wireless device to use the DigiCert Global Root CA certificate after this change window .
