Update: Performance of Enterprise Systems – Dec 20, 2017 – 14:30 PT
We are continuing working with the vendor on resolving the issue that impacted the performance of enterprise systems since the weekend. We have identified a few areas to focus on to determine the root cause.
We will be carrying out a couple of scheduled maintenances on the EduCloud Server environment starting tonight from 22:00-23:59 PT and tomorrow from 07:00-19:00 PT. Users will not experience any impact to their performances and administrators will continue to be able to manage their servers via standard remote management methods. We were able to stabilize all enterprise systems including the Learning Management System. Users should be able to access all services normally. We are continuing to work with our vendor on identifying the root cause of the issue and resolving it.
We will provide another update after 17:00 PT.
The following message is being shared with the campus community.
Over the weekend, routine maintenance of our enterprise storage systems was undertaken which affected some of our physical servers (supporting EduCloud). All enterprise systems are currently accessible, but users may have noticed slowdowns while connecting to Connect and Canvas platforms over the weekend. Our IT team has been working with our vendor throughout the weekend to diagnose the issue and create contingency plans, with the highest priority in ensuring that the Learning Management Systems aren’t compromised during exam time and given the need for student access. We will keep the campus community informed of any further issues on Monday. Users who experience any related issues should submit a ticket to the IT Service Centre.
