CWL Database Virtualization

8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • CWL/IAM Database server will be migrated from HP BL460c blade to new dedicated VMs including Primary and Secondary DB VMs, i.e. the change is no an in-place upgrade.
  • CWL/IAM database will be upgraded from Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g. Currently CWL/IAM database only supports US7 ASCII character set. The target CWL/IAM database will be configured to Microsoft Western European (WE8MSWIN1252) character set.
  • CWL – UI apps and authentication
  • LDAP & SSD interfaces (ETLs between source data and IAM)
  • FIM (ETL between IAM and EAD) and EAD
  • Student Email
  • IAM-Atlassian (software management tool used by UBC IT app developers)
  • Grouper
  • IAM integration partner apps
Short term impact to redirect new CWL/IAM Database to the new Virtualized CWL/IAM environment
CISCO Call Manager version 8.5 to 8.6 upgrade

Assign VLANs 2603 and 2604 to VRF ITSV-SYSUSG of virtual network ITSV05 Reconfiguration and re direction to assign VLAN 2603 to VRF ITSV-SYSUSG to virtual network ITSV05
  • UBC IT Internal Management of the USG devices by Systems group
  • ITSV05 FWSM context will need to be updated with appropriate firewall ACLs similar to the router ACLs currently in place
