911 Caller ID/Location Issue on Buchanan Telephone Switch – November 1, 2012

An issue has been identified on the Buchanan telephone switch, where caller ID is not being passed to 911 operators. As a result, 911 is unable to determine the caller and caller location. Subscribers on Buchanan are advised to relay their name, phone number and location when calling 911. For a list of buildings on the Buchanan telephone switch, refer to:


911 location services are working normally on other telephone switches. UBC IT is currently investigating this issue with Telus, and updates will be posted here.
