Failure of a storage controller at 9:36am, 9:59am, and 10:10am caused brief interruptions to Virtual Servers and services with storage hosted on the failed controller.
Servers hosted on this storage froze for approx 1 minute while storage controller failover occurred. In most cases servers/services resumed normal behaviour when the failover completed.
Major services impacted by the failovers include:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) – session disconnects occurred but sessions could be resumed after the failover
Student Service Centre
Services are currently operating on the backup controller. UBC IT is working with the storage vendor to correct the problem and restore the primary controller to service.
