Email messages routed through the may be delayed due to extremely high message volumes from 6:00pm January 9 to 8:00am January 10. Specially, the following mail services were affected:
– Exchange (messages from outside UBC)
– UBC.ca aliases
– Departmental mail services using mail-relay spam scanning
Outbound message queues are returning to normal, but it may take hours for all messages to be received. The high message volumes were caused by an Interchange mailing-list loop. UBC IT will be investigating how to mitigate the impact of such loops in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience.
