Improved Spam Scoring for Outgoing Interchange Messages February 12, 2008 after 15:00

UBC IT will be changing the way spam scores are assigned to messages submitted to the Interchange outgoing mail (SMTP) server on February 12, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The UBC Mail-Relays will stop performing specific spam rule checks on messages submitted to the Interchange outgoing mail server via an authenticated connection.

This change will ensure that these messages receive a more accurate spam score. For information on how to configure your email program to use an authenticated outgoing mail (SMTP) connection, please visit:
