Kaltura System Issues

Kaltura Systems Update – Wednesday, March 10, 2021 – 2:00pm

The Kaltura Engineers continue to work on the current system issues.

Further indexing and emptying server caches are in progress. During this process, users may experience:

  • API errors
  • Error 500 – Internal Server
  • Applications errors

If you come across these issues, please try refreshing your browser (multiple times) and/or clearing your browser history and cache.

The following intermittent issues have been reported:

Canvas:

  1. Access Denied or an API Error when accessing embedded media or in the Media Gallery.
  2. Publishing/Access Denied: Uploading content and publishing to the media gallery can take some time. The instructor can often see it but students either get access denied or see the gears icon as processing.
    – Refreshing the browser multiple times or launching a different browser/clearing cache may resolve the issue.
  3. Kaltura Video Quiz : Missing Questions
    Users are reporting that not all video quiz questions are displaying (i.e. when a student takes a quiz it only shows 6 of the 10 questions).
  4. Media Disappearing: Uploaded content not always appearing, or can’t be deleted.

 

Teaching & Learning Portal: (learning.video.ubc.ca)
1. Access Denied: Accessing a channel or video results in Access Denied.
– Refreshing the browser multiple times or launching a different browser/clearing cache may resolve the issue.
2. (For Channel Managers/Admins) Editing a channel may result in same issue. When accessible and going to the Users Tab, the tab does not display users.
