UPDATE: The Kaltura Enterprise Video Platform upgrade has encountered some issues. Kaltura engineers are working to resolve these. Users may or may not be able to see media listed in their personal ‘My Media’.  All embedded media in courses and elsewhere should continue to be viewable.

If you require access to any of your media or an embed code for media please contact the LT Hub (lt.hub@ubc.ca).

UPDATE: The Kaltura Enterprise Video Platform within Canvas is now functional. Users are able to upload, edit, view and play media.

Some users of the Teaching & Learning Media portal (https://learning.video.ubc.ca) may see an API error when accessing the site.

Kaltura engineers are continuing to resolve issues with the upgrade so users may experience some performance issues over the next few hours.

UPDATE: The Kaltura Enterprise video platform upgrade is almost completed. Users should now be able to view and playback media. However, uploads, recording and live streaming is currently not possible. Kaltura engineers are working on the issue and we hope to have this functionality available in the next few hours.

UPDATE: The Kaltura Enterprise Video Platform upgrade is proceeding well but will require some additional time to complete the installation. We will be extending the allotted outage time to 23:59 PT.

Following this there will be a period of intermittent outages and slow performance as sanity checks and configurations are completed.

The Kaltura Enterprise Video Platform within Canvas, and the MediaSpace portals will have the following access restrictions during the stated periods:

Kaltura Offline
Saturday July 27 2019 between 12:00 and 20:00 PT.
During this time, users will not be able to access any video content. Users will not be able to View/Play/Upload/Edit/Delete/Record content.

Kaltura Intermittent and Slow Performance
Saturday July 27 2019 between 20:01 and 22:00 PT.
During this time, users will be able to watch and upload videos but may experience slower than normal performance or experience errors on screen. We recommend users do not live stream or attempt webcam recordings during this period.
