Technicians are currently investigating an issue that is affecting some analog UBC phone services at the following buildings:
- H.R. MacMillan
- Chemical & Biological Engineering
- Arts One Buildings
- Telus Business Lines at the UBC Detwiller and Purdy Pavilions.
- Koerner Library
- Ponderosa Blocks A, B, C, E, F, G
- President’s Residence
- Jack Bell
- Hillel House
- Gas Gun Facility
- North Parkade
- Biomedical Research Centre
- Student Rec
- Earth Quake Research
- Certain UBC Housing Units
Other buildings may be impacted. Technicians have identified the issue and are working to restore service as soon as possible.
The majority of the UBC Campus uses the VoIP phone service which is not affected by this issue. In addition, the UBC Hospital lines are not affected (other than some Telus Business Lines located in the Purdy and Detwiller Pavilions as noted above.)
If you are affected by this service interruption, please ensure that you submit a trouble ticket to the IT Service Centre so that we can ensure that service is properly restored.
Update as of July 8th, 14:10 PT: As of about 04:30 PT today, all known fire alarm issues have been resolved / fixed and the majority of known elevator line issues are resolved. Other voices services affected are still also being looked into. Please continue to report any other related issues.
