Reason: A line card failed in one of the core Vancouver routers and
required manual resetting to restore service. The primary
BCNET DNS services were impacted which lengthened the
investigation time for the underlying issue.
Effects: The following 1GigE copper connected services were
intermittent during this time.
BCNET – Internal servers, staff network, SDN TestBed
CANARIE – GGC and VPN
UBC – Distributed Medical School internal servers,
DMP to MPAACT network and WATER project
Verisign – Vancouver
WestGrid – BCNET site
