Fiber cut affecting BCNET 10G connection between VICTX1 and VANTX1 April 28 2010 15:22

Reason:

A fiber cut occurred on a marine cable near Point
Roberts that has affected all major Canadian carriers.Â

Effects:

All layer2 (switching) services from VICTX are affected
by this incident. The majority of service has failed over
to backup GRE tunnels however direct lightpaths are
affected such as the UBC Distributed Medical School and
CANARIE lightpaths in Victoria.

Vancouver IX (Peering) services are disrupted.

All other services including all Internet Transit services
remain operational.
