Fraudulent Email Alert December 8, 2009

Fraudulent emails directing users to submit CWL account information have been reported. UBC IT never requests username and passwords over the internet or emails. Do not fill out the form with any of your account information. Instead, please forward a copy of the email including full headers to and then delete it from your Inbox or mobile phone. If you did submit your CWL account information, go to myAccount and change your password as soon as possible.

Subject: URGENT: OIT E-mail storage limit approaching or exceeded

To ensure quick, responsive e-mail services, it is necessary to establish limits on the amount of e-mail each user may store on the system. The volume of e-mail you are storing on the Central e-mail system is now either greater than 80% of your space allocation or over
100% of your limit.

If your account is over your limit, all new e-mail will not be delivered to your account, but will be returned(bounced) to the sender stating that your account is over quota.

You will receive this message once after you reach 80% and you will continue to receive this message every 24 hours after you have reached 100%.
