44 VoIP phones are currently down in Henry Angus due to a switch hardware issue. Estimated resolution time is unknown at this time.

Cable Damage Affecting South Campus Phones Jun 29, 2011 13:00 – 15:30

Due to cable damage, almost all of the phones in South Campus were down for about 50 minutes. The cable has been repaired and voice services have been restored as of 15:30.

Update : Long Distance Dialing from Buchanan PBX – Friday June 03, 2011 12:40

The issue with placing Long Distance calls from phones served through Buchanan PBX has been resolved.

It is currently not possible to make Long Distance calls from phones served through Buchanan PBX. Local Calls and on-campus calls are not affected. Exact cause of the trouble is not yet known. Time to resolution is unknown.

UBC-TELUS-SHAW Phone Interconnect Issue May 20, 2011 10:30

It is currently not possible to dial non-UBC phone numbers hosted by SHAW. TELUS has reported that there is a system-wide interconnect problem currently between SHAW and TELUS, and they are investigating. Time to resolution is unknown.

Voice System (Angus PBX) Issue May 17, 2011 19:40

The Voice System (Angus PBX) Issue has been resolved as of 7:40 pm on May 17, 2011.

Voice System Maintenance May 16, 2011 23:15-23:45

UBC IT will be performing maintenance on the Angus PBX from 23:15 to 23:45 on May 16, 2011. In order to resolve a system stability problem, a reboot of the switch is required. All telephone services hosted on the Angus PBX will be unavailable for 5 minutes during the change window, while the switch restarts.

UBC On-Campus Phone Long Distance Dialing Issue May 11, 2011

There are currently issues dialling the following countries from on-campus at UBC Vancouver: Australia New Zealand Fiji TELUS is investigating the issue, but there is no estimated resolution time.

UBC IT is consolidating conferencing service offerings. As a result, UBC IT is discontinuing Intercall-based conferencing accounts on April 29, 2011. If you have an Intercall conferencing account, and you continue to require conferencing services, please contact your Departmental Voice Administrator to request a Telus conferencing account. ResTel Decommissioning April 29, 10:00 – 11:00

UBC IT has ceased the operation of the ResTel phone service. If you are a former ResTel subscriber and require phone service in your room, please contact Shaw at 310-SHAW. Please note that Shaw services are not available at St. Andrew’s Hall.
