The KMS server will be undergoing maintenance and will be unavailable from 07:00a to 07:30a, Saturday, June 8, 2013 PST.
Any campus-issued Microsoft product attempting a license activation or license check will be unable to connect to the server during this period and receive an error. This will affect Microsoft products operating on both Windows & OS X platforms.
KMS also acts as the download site for the Sophos Anti-Virus definition updates, for the home-use/personal edition version of Sophos. Any “personal edition’ of Sophos that attempts to connect to the server to receive an update of the Sophos Anti-Virus definitions will not be able to connect and thus receive an error.
The current maintenance window should not affect the regular operation of any Microsoft or Sophos product under normal conditions.
When the server has completed its maintenance schedule, both services will return to normal operations. If you experience any issues outside of this change window, please send in a ticket to UBC IT with a description of your issue at: http://it.ubc.ca/sos
